  • Escort patients to exam/procedure room. Assist patients as needed with walking, preparing for exam, etc. Collect patient information/history; taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines.
  • Prepare procedure rooms and surgical trays with all supplies needed for procedures.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures in adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Complete pre-operative intake via one-on-one interview with the patient, explain surgical procedures, and answer any questions within your scope.
  • Prepare paperwork for patient’s current visit and ensure complete and accurate documentation within the patient’s electronic medical record.
  • Drape and disinfect surgical site, administer an injection of local anesthesia, and use a handheld cautery device to achieve hemostasis
  • Assist physician during all procedures (passing instruments, blotting, cutting sutures, etc).
  • Bandage surgical sites, prepare proper discharge paperwork, review wound care instructions with patient, and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization in an autoclave.
  • Collect and accurately process specimens.
  • Contribute to keeping the clinical area clean and orderly to ensure a safe work environment and maintain efficiency.
  • Check and respond to daily internal electronic communications (tasks/intramails).
  • Maintain daily COVID cleaning regulations per the CDC and AAD protocols.
  • Willing to travel to other offices to include:
    • Annapolis, MD
    • Glen Burnie, MD
    • Prince Frederick, MD
    • Berlin, MD
    • Hagerstown, MD
    • Westminster, MD
    • Havre de Grace, MD


  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of one-year work experience in a medical practice preferred
  • Long term commitment preferred. If looking to advance, 2 year commitment required.
  • Successful completion of Medical Assistant program or equivalent hospital program preferred.
  • Will train a motivated, hardworking candidate.
  • Must have reliable transportation and willingness/ability to travel to various surgery centers located in Maryland.


  • Medical Assistant Certification is preferred
  • Dermtech course is required but provided by employer
