It is important that the Cosmetic Medical Assistant is cheerful, friendly, polite, tactful, and professional in appearance and manner at all times. A clinical research assistant has to assist in setting up, monitoring and completing clinical trials. Responsible for coordinating the work of the people who are working on the clinical research project.


Cosmetic Medical Assistant (Clinical Trials)

  • This individual works closely with the Cosmetics Provider(s), as well as the Cosmetic Coordinator to support gathering patient information, assembling charts, and maintaining the smooth flow of charts to the clinical areas of the office. The individual is very hands on in terms of working with the Provider, Patients, and involvement in and out of the exam room. The successful Medical Assistant must be a team player and respectful of their co-workers.
  • In addition to assisting the provider during appointments with clinical trial participants, other duties and responsibilities include:
  • Assist the scientist, physician or investigator who is responsible for conducting the trial.
  • Has to be involved in developing and implementing strategies in recruiting subjects for the trials in order to increase patient enrollment.
  • Has to oversee the attendance of meetings between research nurses and the investigator.
  • Has to maintain patient records including all the details of the patients being recruited for trials, the progress of each patient during the trial, any adverse events that may have occurred during trial and other relevant information.
  • Make sure that payments are being made to the investigators, the trial site and subjects.
  • Responsible for maintaining records of clinical trial shipments.
  • Ensure that adequate supplies are available to meet project needs.
  • Assists the investigator and project manager in writing the final reports of the trial.


  • Possess excellent communication as well as very good interpersonal skills.
  • Has to have strong organizational and administration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision at times.
  • May have to work extended hours, especially when the completion of a trial is nearing.


  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program OR a Bachelor's degree in a pre med/pre PA track required
  • A desire to be part of clinical research trials is an added advantage in this profession.
  • Previous experience working in a private practice setting as a Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.
