As the Tax & Regulatory Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations while also managing regulatory reporting requirements. You will play a crucial role in analyzing financial data, preparing various state and local tax returns, liaising directly with tax advisors, and advising on tax planning strategies to optimize the organization's financial position.

 

Schedule: Hours will flexible be between 8am-6pm. This position is hybrid but will require 1-2 days on-site. 

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns for state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Oversee and Liaise with external tax advisors on federal tax returns.
  • Compile and submit business licenses.
  • Track state & local taxes and business licenses across 100+ clinics and 7 states to ensure compliance and accurate accruals/reporting on the general ledger.
  • Conduct tax research to interpret and apply tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data for tax reporting purposes.
  • Assist in tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial performance.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and disclosures related to taxes.
  • Maintain organized and accurate tax records and documentation.
  • Provide support during tax audits and examinations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in various accounting and project management software and Microsoft Excel.

Licensure/Certifications/Education

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax accounting or a related role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
