Anne Arundel Dermatology is seeking an experienced CIO to complete the integration of recent acquisitions, ensure appropriate technology practices, and lead their technology team into the next phase of business growth.  This role will be responsible for understanding the technology needs of the company, determining an effective strategy for upgrade, integration and consolidation of systems, solidifying the team, managing technology vendors, ensuring operational stability and security, and enabling growth.  This individual will report to the CEO, oversee all resources and vendors within the technology function, and be accountable for execution against the annual and strategic plans.  To enable strong collaboration with other team members, this position will be based in the Linthicum Heights / Baltimore Maryland area.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for the IT team including training, motivating, developing and delegating.
  • Evaluate team and vendor skill sets and proficiencies against those needed to accomplish the strategic plan and adjust the team as needed, identifying, onboarding and training top talent when appropriate.
  • Establish appropriate and efficient technology processes including operational, support, security, project management, and vendor management.
  • Ensure appropriate cyber security practices are in place, including HIPAA requirements.
  • Ensure information systems meet industry standard uptime, security and resiliency and respond promptly to all escalated incident and support calls.
  • Develop appropriate technology strategy that enables the AAD business strategy as well as the expected growth of AAD including network, laptop/desktop/IPAD/Mobile management, corporate tools (e.g. email, collaboration, etc), purchased SaaS applications (ERP, HR, etc), telephony systems, BI and data systems, and clinic support/office equipment.
  • Execute against the technology strategy, with strong communication and collaboration across the business.
  • Manage prioritization and resource allocation, project timelines, and the technology budgets to execute on plan, meet key milestones, and ensure systems are well maintained.
  • Provide an effective data strategy to ensure business has the appropriate insights and reporting to drive business operations, find efficiencies, evaluate business functions, and formulate business plans.
  • Ensure the technology support team is meeting the needs of the business and is equipped with the appropriate tools, metrics, and skill sets. Set and execute to service levels and foster strong customer interface skills.
  • Ensure proper functioning of the company’s information systems and upgrade as needed, including transitioning from on-premises to cloud-based where appropriate, integrating with 3rd party vendors as needed, and automating operations for efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business teams on the successful integration of new clinics as acquisitions take place.
  • Negotiate technology contracts and ensure market-based pricing and services, manage and build strong day-to-day relationships with technology vendors (including SaaS, PaaS and hardware/software vendors), and ensure vendors are adhering to service and support obligations.
  • Build strong relationships across the business, and work with business counterparts to understand business needs from a technology perspective.
  • Keep up with technology trends and new capabilities in the market and bring ideas forward that would enable or enhance the business strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years experience managing an IT Operations team.
  • 8+ years experience managing projects using standard project management/agile methodologies.
  • 8+ years experience managing technology vendors including participating in and driving vendor negotiations.
  • 8+ years experience managing an IT support team.
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies and related security, especially as they pertain to corporate networks, data storage, databases, and BI services, and MS O365.
  • Deep knowledge of MSO365; specifically integrating multiple instances, Active Directory management, and associated security.
  • Experience with databases, data and analytics, BI tools and systems, cloud-based data and storage offerings and capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of cyber security, preferably experience with a standard security methodology (e.g. NIST), and HIPAA security obligations.
  • Strong understanding of technology operations.
  • Proven track record of managing, building and retaining high performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong business acumen and interest.

Salary Range: $190,000- $220,00 (eligible for bonus)
