The Cosmetics Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing specialized cosmetic services and procedures to clients. They conduct consultations, both in-person and over the phone, to educate clients on available procedures and products. In addition to performing clinical and cosmetic procedures, they ensure compliance with company policies, maintain strict confidentiality of medical records, and document patient information accurately. The Cosmetics Nurse Practitioner serves as a resource for internal and external clients/patients, addressing their concerns, resolving problems, and providing exceptional customer service. They also play a role in training and developing support staff to ensure smooth operations and effective support for service providers. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client consultations both in person and over the phone, providing guidance on procedures and products. 
  • Handle client service matters, including problem resolution, serving as a knowledgeable resource for both internal and external clients/patients. 
  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding medical records and sensitive data, adhering to all company policies and procedures. 
  • Perform clinical and cosmetic procedures following established policies and procedures, while also educating clients on medication usage and associated effects. 
  • Accurately document patient information in the medical records system. 
  • Assist in the training and development of support staff to ensure effective support for service providers. 
  • Address client/patient concerns and diligently follow up on problems, complaints, and inquiries, conducting research as needed to ensure satisfactory resolution. 
  • Ensure compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations when handling the sending and receiving of patient medical records. 
  • Participate in external events aimed at promoting and expanding the cosmetic business within the clinic.
  • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management. 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Clinical Dermatology, aesthetic services, and treatments 
  • Excellent customer service skills and bedside manner 
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal & written) 
  • Well organized, efficient, and able to operate in a busy work environment 
  • Operates in a transparent manner with integrity 
  • Willingness to succeed and grow individually as well as part of a team 
  • Ability to adhere to designated standards and protocols for medical documentation for services performed. 
  • Have thorough knowledge of skincare and cosmetic products in order to appropriately develop patient prescriptions. 
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of all medical protocols, standard operating procedures, and policies. 

Licensure/Certifications/Education

Education and Experience: 

  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing environment preferred. 
  • 1-2 years of experience in a cosmetic dermatology environment preferred. 
  • A current recognized license to work as a registered nurse. 
  • Be recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the Academy of Nurse Practitioners. 
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner 
  • State Licensure 
  • Relevant certifications for cosmetic experience. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of standing.  
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
