Responsibilities

We are seeking a hard working, quick learner, with attention to detail to join our team. This is a great opportunity in a laboratory medical environment where the focus is on patients, quality and doing the right thing. Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receives and accounts for all specimens from referring physicians
  • Ensures proper labeling of specimens and that the information on the requisition matches information entered into system
  • Inputs patient demographics and specimen information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Documents missing or discrepant information
  • Verifies correct information with QC process
  • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management. 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required. 
  • Must have some medical experience or knowledge (knowledge of medical terminology preferred)
  • Must be extremely detail oriented and able to work quickly and productively
  • Type 45+ wpm with 100% accuracy. You will be asked to complete a typing skills assessment to verify skill level
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • Able to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Highly proficient with computer and word processing skills
  • Reliable and dependable

Licensure/Certifications/Education

Full time employees (defined as regularly working at least 30 hours per week) are eligible for the following benefits:
