This position travels with our Mohs surgery team to multiple clinic locations throughout the week (Tampa, Clearwater, Valrico, and Hudson clinics). Mileage reimbursement is provided.
This is a primarily desk-based position focused on scheduling, patient coordination, and administrative support for Mohs surgery.

The Medical Assistant will assist Physicians and other Providers by preparing procedure trays, ensuring adequate supplies for the department and assisting with patient care.
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their Mohs surgery — including answering questions, reviewing procedure details, and addressing concerns.
Provide pre-operative instructions and post-operative care information to patients, ensuring understanding and proper documentation in the EMR (EMA).
Meet with patients following Mohs consultations to review surgical costs, payment expectations, and insurance-related questions.
Handle all paperwork related to Mohs surgery, including consent forms, insurance authorizations, and provider communications.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, scheduling notes, and surgery logs in EMA.
Ensure timely follow-up on all phone calls, emails, faxes, and interdepartmental communications related to Mohs scheduling.
Occasionally rotate onto the Mohs floor to assist with surgical cases as needed (e.g., tray setup/breakdown, sterilization, assisting surgeon).
Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.
Other duties as assigned by management.
