The Skin Cancer Surgery Center (Anne Arundel Dermatology) is searching for a self-motivated Mohs Histotechnician to join our growing practice. Founded over 40 years ago with a mission to provide the highest quality and full spectrum of medical, surgical, and esthetic skin care services to each and every one of its patients, Anne Arundel Dermatology has assembled the finest group of Mohs surgeons in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states.
Primary Duties:
· Prepare frozen sections of tissue for microscopic examination using Cryostat.
· Cares for, maintains, and troubleshoots all laboratory equipment, instruments, and accessories.
· Cleans, stocks, and inventories the laboratory area.
· Demonstrate knowledge of CLIA and OSHA standards.
· Perform other specific duties that are assigned by the lab manager as required.
· Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications:
· A minimum of 1 years’ experience with frozen sections, grossing, embedding, and cutting tissue for Mohs cases
· Detail-oriented person
· An excellent communicator, both verbally, and written
· Presents themselves in a professional manner
· Quick learner

· Dependable with excellent attendance
· Able to adapt to a high paced workflow based on demand
· Works quickly, without compromising quality or safety
· Pleasant and optimistic personality
· Proficient at multitasking
· Adapt to cutting different tissue sizes
· Triage and prioritize multiple specimens coming into the lab at one time.
· Independently cut and process 12 -14 Mohs cases with a 20 minute turnaround time from the time tissue is received to when the provider is reviewing under the microscope.
Education:
· Preferred but not required with commensurate experience; HT (ASCP) or have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or have at least 60 semester hours in science from an accredited institution.
