Salary: $65-70k

Responsibilities

Job Summary: 

 

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function. Reporting to the HR Manager and partnering closely with the HR Business Partners, this role provides hands-on support in employee relations, policy interpretation, talent management, and HR process improvement. The HR Generalist ensures a consistent and positive employee experience while maintaining compliance with state and federal employment laws.

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

    • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers by addressing general HR inquiries and guiding them to appropriate HR team members or resources. 
    • Support HR Business Partners with employee relations investigations, documentation, and follow-up actions. 
    • Promote a culture of trust, engagement, and accountability through proactive HR support and communication. 
    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS system (e.g., ADP, UKG, or equivalent). 
    • Generate HR reports and metrics to support business decisions and compliance audits. 
    • Support annual HR initiatives such as performance reviews, compensation planning, and policy updates. 
    • Partner with Onboarding Specialist as needed to ensure smooth onboarding of new hires, including completion of required forms and coordination with hiring managers. 
    • Assist as needed with pre-employment processes such as background checks. 
    • Support HR-led programs and initiatives focused on engagement, recognition, and retention. 
    • Assist in planning and executing employee communications, wellness programs, and culture-building activities. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. 
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi-state or healthcare environment.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.  

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures. 
  • Working understanding of employment laws. 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Ability to travel 10%. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
