Knoxville Dermatology Group, in affiliation with Anne Arundel Dermatology, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our surgical dermatology team in Knoxville, Tennessee. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position, open to both experienced providers and new graduates interested in surgical dermatology.

 

The Surgical Physician Assistant works closely with and assists the Mohs Surgeon in a high-volume surgical dermatology setting. This role involves supporting a wide range of diagnostic and procedural activities, often with a high level of autonomy.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Mohs Surgeon with surgical procedures, including preparation, local anesthesia, and intraoperative support
  • Perform or assist with wound closures, including suturing and basic reconstructive techniques
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including education and follow-up
  • Carry out or assist with dermatologic diagnostic and treatment procedures
  • Support efficient surgical workflow and patient throughput in a fast-paced environment
  • Supervise and collaborate with clinical support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Serve as a patient advocate, educator, and liaison throughout the surgical process

Qualifications

  • Clinical provider with a strong interest in surgical dermatology and Mohs procedures
  • Comfortable with basic surgical techniques and patient care; prior experience preferred
  • Interest in developing advanced surgical and procedural skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently when appropriate
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both patients and team members
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability

Licensure/Certifications/Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

  • Current Board Certification as NP or PA

  • Active and unrestricted Tennessee medical license (or ability to obtain)

  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
