Knoxville Dermatology Group, in affiliation with Anne Arundel Dermatology, is seeking a Mohs Surgical Assistant NP/PA to join our surgical dermatology team in Knoxville, Tennessee. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position, open to both experienced providers and new graduates interested in surgical dermatology.
The Mohs Surgical Assistant NP/PA works closely with and assists the Mohs Surgeon in a high-volume surgical dermatology setting. • Assist the Mohs Surgeon with surgical procedures including patient preparation, local anesthesia, and intraoperative support
• Perform wound closures including suturing and basic reconstructive techniques
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care including patient education and follow-up
• Perform or support dermatologic surgical and diagnostic procedures in a high-volume Mohs setting
• Support efficient surgical workflow and patient throughput in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Collaborate with clinical support staff to ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency
• Serve as a patient advocate and educator throughout the surgical process
• NP or PA with a strong interest in surgical dermatology and Mohs procedures
• Prior surgical dermatology or procedural experience preferred, but motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Interest in developing advanced surgical and procedural skills within a high-volume Mohs setting
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients and team members
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and highly organized with strong follow-through and accountability
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current board certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active and unrestricted Tennessee medical license or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
